Important Covid-19 Policy Update

OUR COMMITMENT: Rest assured, we are committed to the safety of all our guests, team, and visitors. We are committed to working with you to make any adjustments to your reservations, in line with the required NZ Government Covid-19 Protection Framework.

OUR TEAM IS FULLY VACCINATED: The team is 100% committed to maintaining the highest standards of service, hygiene and protection as required by the NZ Government Covid-19 Protection Framework. The team greatly appreciates your patience and compliance as we all adjust to the new operational requirements to keep each other safe.

Covid-19 Vaccination Certificates are Required For Guests 12 Years+ +

NO VACCINATION CERTIFICATE = NO STAY:

At our Lodge, we want to give every guest that stays with us the peace of mind to know their health is our very top priority.

That’s why we are requiring all guests aged 12 years and over to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, and to show proof of vaccination on arrival at The Hideaway Lodge.

RESPECT: The Reservation Holder is responsible to ensure the entire group in the booking is fully vaccinated for Covid-19 and can provide the NZ Government Approved Vaccination Certificate prior to their stay.

Children under the age of 12 at the time of their visit will not be required to show proof of vaccination. If you are unable to get a vaccination for medical reasons, you will also be required to show proof of your exemption.

We acknowledge that not everyone wishes to be vaccinated against Covid-19. However, in order to properly operate, the Hideaway Lodge is bound by NZ Government legislation. From 3 December 2021 until such time that the NZ Government lifts the vaccination restrictions for hospitality providers, you will not be able to stay at Rotorua Hideaway Lodge if you can not provide proof of vaccination prior to arrival. No refunds will be given if there is a failure to comply.

During Your Stay | You may be requested by a member of the Hideaway Lodge team to verify your certificate onsite at Hideaway Lodge.

If You Have an Existing Booking

We are providing as much notice of the new Government Vaccination Certificate Policy as we can. This is to allow you time to cancel your current booking if you wish to.

COVID-19 CANCELLATION POLICY FOR EXISTING BOOKINGS

For existing bookings that cannot proceed due to NZ Government imposed Covid-19 domestic travel restrictions, we will be happy to credit or refund any amount paid to date. We kindly ask that you give us as much notice as possible of any cancellations.

  • This supersedes the standard cancellation policy on the booking website and is applicable right up to the arrival date.
  • This policy only comes into force when the NZ Government notifies of a travel restriction that affects your travel dates.
  • You have the choice of changing dates (subject to availability) or cancellation with refund for any amount already paid. Obviously if you can support us and rebook that is the preferred option.
  • If you change dates, the rates for the 'new' period apply, so there may be a deficit or a credit. We can advise of any differences in price before you make any changes.
  • Any credit is valid for 24 months from the date of issue and subject to availability.
  • This applies to domestic travel restrictions only.
  • This does not cover an event cancellation or an unfavourable weather forecast.

DIGITAL VACCINATION CERTIFICATES | Will be required from 3 December 2021 for all guests 12 years +. Apply for you certificate now on the My Covid Record website

CONTACTLESS CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT | We will be arranging this for you and will be in touch via email prior to your arrival.

QR CODE SCANNING | Scanning the QR code and registering all guests, and visitors, on arrival is mandatory for contact tracing purposes. Please use the sanitisers provided.

SOCIAL DISTANCING | Please follow requests for social distancing and mask-wearing as determined by the alert levels throughout the duration of your stay.

HAND HYGIENE | Proper and frequent handwashing and the use of sanitisers will help combat the spread of any viruses.

GUEST ROOMS | We use cleaning and disinfecting protocols to clean rooms after guests depart and before the next guest arrives, with special attention paid to high-touch items.

BACK OF HOUSE | In the spaces where team members work “behind the scenes”, we are increasing the frequency of cleaning and focusing on high-touch areas.

WELLNESS | While we will do everything we can to ensure your stay with us is safe, we would kindly ask you to follow NZ Ministry of Health Guidelines and stay at home if:

  • you are showing symptoms of COVID-19
  • you are a close contact of someone with COVID-19
  • you have visited a location of interest
  • you have visited a Government COVID-19 MIQ within the last 14 days prior to your stay
